The World Bank will sign a project worth $1 billion dollar with Indian Government as social security fund for urban poor and migrant workers during this corona crisis. The economy of country has been shaken due to the lockdown of more than 50 days. The sections who earn their living on daily wages are the most effected ones.
Earlier, On Tuesday, Modi government has announced an economy booster package of 20 lakh crores to uplift the fallen economy. Junaid Ahmad, country director of World Bank appreciated the concept of ‘aatmanirbhar bharat’, as it will give directions to both i.e. life and livelihoods.
The proposed package of $1 Billion will enable India to integrate all of its 400-plus social security schemes at a technology level. It will be beneficial especially for the daily wages workers, labours and migrant workers.
